So...um...hi!

I think it's time for a new look for my journal. I'll see about that this weekend, if I have time. News in my life:

School is decent. I mean, I don't like my classes at all this semester, but I'm making it through. Painting is my least favorite. I'm a painter, sure, I love watercolor and acrylic. But I'm not a fan of oil painting. It's not fun. My art education class seems so disorganized. Every day, we go to a different school. Except the days we go to the university classroom. Or the days we go to our lab school. Or the days we go to conventions. I have to go do observations at another school on Friday morning, too. I'm afraid I'll get lost one day and end up on the other side of town. Most likely.

Work was bad on Friday. Our secretay quit, the other secretary wasn't there, and one of the nurses quit, and I basically had to run the entire front desk by myself. Like I even know how. I gave these people an appointment because their son hurt his arm, and I was proud of myself for taking care of it. But no, I got yelled at because I should have told them to come in at that very second, because his arm was, indeed, broken. Was I supposed to know that? And I couldn't check people in, file charts, answer the phones, and check people out all at the same time. I can multitask, sure, but not that much. So I got yelled at again because the patients were backed up. Not my fault. One person approached the window and I was all set to ignore him or her, but I happened to glance up.

It was my Mommy! She brought me roses! Multi-colored ones! And chocolate. And the Lion King 1 1/2. If the Lion King is Hamlet, 1 1/2 is Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. It is so funny. *sings the Meerkat song* "Digga tunna digdigga tunna...*click, click, click, click*...quick before the hyena comes!" But the best part is when Timon is trying to remember the phrase "Hakuna Matata" because he forgot it. Pumbaa is in the background saying all kinds of things that rhyme with it, but Timon is not paying attention. Like "I gotta Lambada!" and he dances around. I laughed.

So then I went home, and had two things in the mail. One was the new LoTR Official Fanclub Magazine (tm). It didn't have very good articles this month, but the pictures were good. The other mail was a letter inviting me to join a national honor society. Phi Kappa Phi, but it's not like a sorority. I think I shall, as it is by invitation only.

And then my cousin Robert came by. I haven't seen him a very long time, but he's going to move to Valdosta and go to school. Hooray! I grew up with him, we're the same age. *nods* Oh, *and* he likes the Tri-Leader website and such, which is just a bonus!

Anyway, I am alive, I promise. Just stupid busy schedule.

I arrived at work today to discover that the doctor I work for went out of town. I turned my car right around and headed straight to the movie theater to see Return of the King for the fifth time. Being a Thursday afternoon, there was practically no one at the theater. In fact, I was the only one watching RotK. It was like my own private viewing! I got to kick off my shoes, put my feet on the back of the chair in front of me, and talk to myself during the movie. (As in, saying the lines along with the characters.) It was brilliant. And the movie gets better each time.

So my wee little four-year-olds visited the sixth grade Sunday school class today for a puppet show. The sixth graders had various puppets, including a cow, a duck, a dinosaur, and a frog. They also had a hand-made puppet with long hair. The topic of said puppet show was "Sampson and Delilah." The puppet with the long hair, obviously, was Sampson. Having no other choice, the frog played Delilah. Upon returning to our own classroom, I reviewed the story with my class to make sure they understood it. I asked, "So who can tell me what happened to Sampson's hair?" With great delight, Thomas announced, "The frog ate it!"

*dies laughing*

In other news, I visited my old high school and talked to my teachers. I introduced Mr. Smith to our online world. He liked Bubba's World Tour. And, he read our recent quotes, including Jasy's birthday present for me. He said that you all are very wrong. And he greatly approves. So there you go.

New quotes in Recent Arrivals. Mostly from my birthday party and Umar's sleep deprivation chat.

Guy in ceramics class: "Mr. Schmidt, do you have an extra cutting wire I can borrow?"
Mr. Schmidt: "Go look in Kyle."
Guy: "Look....where?"
Mr. Schmidt: "In Kyle."
Guy: "Um...who's Kyle?"
Mr. Schmidt: "That yellow bucket on the counter. Oh yeah, I didn't make the announcement. Attention, class! That yellow bucket on the counter has extra tools for you to use. It's name is Kyle. Be nice to it."

Dr. Davis: "The Medici family was ubiquitous."

This is long. Much to tell. (I typed mush. Ha!)

First of all, there were "words" exchanged at the office between the new secretary and the office manager. The secretary quit and walked out. I arrived right after it happened and was immediately put to work at the front desk. I worked there last week, dealing with parents on the phone. I'd rather take the screaming kids any day. At least they're appeased with a lollipop and a sticker. The parents, not so much. But they hired a new secretary on Friday, and she started training today. I thought she looked really familiar and it turns out that I went to elementary school with her. I'm thinking she's not going to like it at the office, but maybe her personality has changed since elementary school.

School started today. What possessed me to sign up for tennis? Not to mention, tennis at eight. That's eight AM, mind you. It was freezing and the rest of my class seem to be athletes. I'm an art major. Why do we have to take PE classes? Why, oh stupid university system, why? So after that ten minute introductory first class, I went to sit in the hallway and wait for my next class. I read part of my tennis syllabus. It reads as follows, and I'm serious:

To perform the overhead smash stroke, you must perform the following steps.
1. Turn sideways.
2. Scratch your back with your racket.
3. Sidestep backwards.
4. Don't try to move literally backwards, as you might fall over.
5. Stand under the ball, like it's going to hit you in the forehead.
6. Swing the racket and hit the ball.

*pause*

Does that even need a comment?

No, didn't think so. Moving on.

While I was sitting in the gym, I heard the most interesting conversations. These are a few of them:

Guy waiting for advisor: *something about gym shorts that I didn't understand*
Guy standing next to him: Yes, but when you buy gym shorts, always get them a size bigger than what you usually wear.
First guy: Okay, thanks for that advice

Lost girl: I'm looking for fitness exercise, where is that class?
Helpful senior guy: Um, there's a small training room at the end of this hallway *points*
Lost girl: You think it's in there?
Helpful senior guy: It might be a possibility.

Lost guy: Where's room 267? Upstairs, right?
Same helpful senior guy: Dude, I don't know. I don't think there are classrooms upstairs. Do you have the right number, man?
Lost guy: *pulls out schedule* Room 267, Education Complex.
Helpful senior guy: Dude, this is the PE Complex. The Education Complex is back over on main campus. You better run.
Lost guy: *blink* Oops! *runs away*

Health was stupid. Our teacher wasn't there, but he sent someone to give us a homework assignment anyway. Grrr at Coach Tucker, whom I normally really love. So after that, I headed over to the Bursary to get my money from my scholarship transfered to my FLEX card. The FLEX card is sort of like a credit card, but you can only use it on campus. It took all of ten seconds to transfer my money, but I had to wait in line for 20 minutes. I rushed over to the bookstore, and luckily found a parking space. I only have to have three books this semester! And my scholarship would have paid for all of them if they had used ones in stock. Of course, they did not and I had to pay extra money for the new versions.

Whilst wandering around the bookstore, I ran into Tonya and Haley from the art department. In, of all places, the art section. Surprise, surprise. But then, I heard this familiar voice. It was......Davidicus!!!! If you've read my novel, you know who that is. *loves Davidicus* He hugged me and we talked for about ten minutes about random stuff. Like the fact that he's been living in Ohio and I didn't even know it. Hm....Anyway, then we saw Brandy, a girl from our high school AP Literature class. She was looking at the bookshelves, paying no attentino to us. So we decided to sneak up on her. David grabbed the nearest book on the shelf, a psychology book, and held it in front of his face. He started sneaking up to her and I hid behind him. Unfortunately, she saw us coming and the attack was not successful. We talked to her, but then we all had to leave. I got David's email address and he says that he can put me in contact with my Matt the Monkey. *crosses fingers* Here's hoping. You can hope with me, too. You'll be likely to see a different version of Margie if I can find my Matt. *knows people don't understand that, but says it anyway ;) *

I headed off to work, where I proceeded to work. And then I went back to school to go to my late night class, ceramics. I'm frightened of ceramics, really. I don't like working in three dimensions and the teacher is scary and the amount of work for that class is scary. If I disappear for weeks at a time, come dig me out of the ceramics studio. Or the kiln, I might fall in or something.

That's about it. Tomorrow I go to see the eccentric Dr. McNeill for my first actual Art Education class, combining my two subjects. And I get to see Mr. Edwards, the evil drawing/painting teacher for my first oil painting class. I hope it's going to go well. I'm so tired of this semester already. I was dreading it before it started. But just think. As soon as I make it through this, I get to go to Italy!

New year, new layout. And lots of new quotes on the Recent Arrivals page. In regards to my previous posts, I am feeling so much better. I spent all afternoon with my best friend on Christmas Eve. I participated in their family dinner and presents exchange. It was fantastic.

As for what I got for Christmas: Strawberry Shortcake wall calendar, LoTR daily tear-off calendar, coconut/lime lotion, incense burner, bright red wallet with an M on it, learn-to-speak-Italian CD's, Celtic music CD, money, Harry Potter legos, puzzles, hand-painted Peter Pan ornament, matching travel bag and umbrella, and Tetris for Playstation2. Oh, yeah, and a digital camera and photo printer. *grin* Disney World, here I come!

And not to mention the various cards and CD's and things I got from all of you! Thank you! And thanks for dealing with me lately. I promise to behave myself ;)

So anyway, I'm leaving for Disney World tomorrow morning. My mom says we're leaving at 6:00 am, but we'll see. I'll be gone until my birthday. See you when I get back!
